Who We Are

NICK PERREAULT

Founder and President

ShopLobster’s founder & president is a 5th generation fisherman hailing from the storied fishing village of Jonesport, Maine. Nick’s journey into the fishery started as a summer job at 16 years old and ultimately turned into a 16 year career. In 2015, Nick became the captain of his own fishing vessel named Revelation. In addition to lobstering, Nick participates in two other commercial fisheries: scallops & elvers where he has held licenses for each since 2015. In 2016, Nick created the popular Instagram page Maine Lobster Fishermen (@mainelobsterfishermen) where he collects photos and videos from fellow fishermen on the job across the coast in order to give outsiders an authentic look into Maine’s famous lobster fishery. Nick’s years in the industry coupled with the vision behind Maine Lobster Fishermen formed the foundation for the creation of ShopLobster, a company Nick envisions as more than just another lobster retailer.

JOSEPH PIERSON

Board Chair & Managing Partner

After spending virtually every summer of his life in Maine, Joseph was easily persuaded to partner with Nick Perreault to bring ShopLobster to life.

When Joseph is not thinking about or eating lobsters, he is making movies. His company, Cypress Films, Inc., has produced numerous television and feature films since 1987, including A Child’s Christmas in Wales, Kurt Vonnegut’s Harrison Bergeron, and EvenHand, a dramatic feature film shot on location in San Antonio, Texas.

Joseph’s most recent film is What’s This Country Called Now?, a dramatic short about the Siege of Sarajevo, filmed on location in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Joseph is excited to be working with Nick and the entire ShopLobster team in bringing you delicious sustainably harvested Maine seafood.

MONIQUE COOMBS

Head Writer and Content Creator

Monique Coombs has been writing content for ShopLobster since its inception.

Monique is the wife of a fisherman, mom of two fishermen, and a commercial fishing industry advocate. Monique has been working for the commercial fishing industry for 15 years and she is currently the Director of Community Programs for the Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association. In that role she oversees MCFA’s Working Waterfront and Fishermen Wellness programs where she works closely with commercial fishermen to develop ways to protect and revitalize Maine’s working waterfronts and identify ways for fishermen to access the help they need to stay healthy and well.

Monique is active on social media and has her own website, www.aragostamama.com, where she shares a bit about her life as a fishing family. She and her family live on the shore in midcoast Maine and spend lots of time on the water. Her favorite food is lobster, of course.

DENI MARTIC

Tech & Marketing

Deni Martic, the innovative force behind ShopLobster’s tech and marketing, is living in the dynamic city of Berlin, Germany. Having joined the ShopLobster team in its early development phase, Deni played a crucial role in establishing the tech stack for both mobile and web applications. Presently, he is working on the company’s strategic and marketing initiatives, actively contributing to the continuous growth of ShopLobster.

Driven by a passion for exploration, Deni has ventured through more than 40 countries, accumulating insights and experiences that uniquely shape his approach to growth marketing. Developing an obsession with sustainable practices, Deni believes in the products he talks about at ShopLobster.

Despite his proficiency in tech and marketing, Deni has a desire to immerse himself in the lobster fishing industry. Contemplating a potential move to Maine, he wants to try his hand at a lobster fishing career. Who knows, perhaps his true calling lies in lobster fishing rather than development and marketing.
